Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely acknowledged for her pioneering work in studying child witnesses as well as eyewitness memories in the legal setting. Professor Goodman has published extensively as well as received numerous grants. She has also been recognized with several international and national distinctions. She has been consulted by numerous governments and agencies throughout the globe on policy and studies on children as victims in the legal system. She acts as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She has memberships with numerous professional organizations like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Additionally, she is a founding members of the American professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was head of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division American Psychology-Law Society, and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
