Anika Noni Rose, an American actress and singer. She's best known for portraying Tiana the first African American character as Tiana Disney's first African American Princess in The Princess and the Frog. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. Rose played Lorrell Robinson, from the Academy Award winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Rose was born on the 6th of September on the 6th of September, 1973. She is a famous American actor and singer. The most famous of her roles was her performance as Tiana, the Disney Princess who is the first African American princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). In 2011, she was honored as an official Disney Legend. She is also known for her starring role as Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar Award-winning movie Dreamgirls (2006) and for playing LaVerne Jukebox Ganner in the Starz program Power. Her performance in the theater are also well-known, particularly her role as Emmie Thbodeaux and as the character in Caroline or Change, a Broadway musical Caroline or Change (2004) which won her the Tony Award Best Featured actress in a Musical. She was also nominated for the Tony Award Best Featured actor in the play Broadway revival A Raisin in the Sun.
