Adults can be defined as animals or human beings who have completed their development. In the realm of human beings, adult is a reference to the social and legal aspects. Legally mature means that a person is at the point of adulthood and is considered to be autonomous, self-sufficient, and responsible. Sometimes referred to as "majors" They can also be said to have reached the age of majority. The age of 18 is the standard legal age for adulthood, although this may differ depending on country and legal status, as well the maturity of the mind.

When a human reaches full physical and intellectual maturity it is referred to as adulthood. Many people believe that the age of adulthood is attained when you are 20 or greater. Following middle age (starting at around 40) is the time to reach older age (around the age of 60). Adulthood is divided into three stages: the early years of adulthood (18-mid-30s) between mid-30s and the mid-60s then late adulthood from mid-60s up to the time of death. As we enter the initial phases of adulthood (between 20-40) the bodies of our children have reached full maturation, even though our weight and height may rise slightly. When we reach the beginning of our lives, we're physically and mentally at the peak. The strength of our muscles, the response time, sensoriac ability and cardiac function are all at their maximum.
